Welcome to my portfolio. Let me tell you about myself and what my hopes and dreams are.

Nate Duersch

I have had a passion for filmmaking since I was in high school. I never went through the “not knowing what to do with my life” phase. I always knew I would be doing something with film/video creation. Storytelling is my favorite thing to do; whether that is filmmaking, watching movies, playing Dungeons and Dragons, reading, or writing, I love it all!

I have been in the film industry in some form or another for the last seven years. I have worked on professional film sets like The Book of Mormon videos, BYUTV’s Showoffs, and various commercial sets. I have edited for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, various YouTubers, short films, documentaries, and multiple company ads.

I hope to become a screenwriter for either features or TV. Pursuing this, I want to take as many writing classes as possible. Honestly, I am not looking for a degree; the people I meet and the structure of film school are what I need. UVU, for me, is a place to gain experience with like-minded people.

I am so excited about what UVU offers and all the opportunities it brings me! I hope I can continue my education in advanced classes and prove to everyone I meet how dedicated I am to this craft!
